> How can an Apprenticeship benefit your company?

There is no doubt that training and qualifications are paramount in today’s changing economic climate. Apprenticeships offer an excellent opportunity for new candidates to enter the construction industry, and for employers to take advantage of grants that are available towards training and development.

Introducing employers to the Apprenticeship Programme opens the way to a structured, assessed and certified process of employee development. Well-trained employees are often better motivated and gain greater job satisfaction, resulting in quality improvements and overall increased productivity.

> What does an Apprenticeship Programme Involve?

An apprenticeship is a training programme that offers young people the opportunity to received a combination of on and off-the job training, leading to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s).

On the job training - type of teaching/learning that a young person receives whilst in their place of work.
Off the job training - type of learning that is conducted at the special training centres, including practical workshops, theory sessions etc.

This programme lasts up to twenty months and aims to develop the learners ability, in order for them to achieve an NVQ level 2 Certificate, Key Skills Certificate and an Intermediate Technical Certificate.
