Working with partners across the region, Think Local Construction is a service provided by Sandwell Metropolitan Council in order to place permanent and temporary local staff with suitable employers in the construction industry.

Think Local has been operating as a job brokerage since its inception in 1997. It is well established in helping local people within the community get local jobs. By working as a professional team, good relationships are established with local employers and major construction companies. Think Local has identified major skills gap’s in certain construction areas and with this in mind has formed links with local training providers. It recognises that opportunities for apprentices and mature trainees could be primed for the construction market.
Think Local Construction covers Sandwell, Black Country and West Birmingham working with over 500 registered companies that have signed up to the Construction Charter. This Charter is a certificate stating that the employer is happy to work in Partnership to seek to recruit locally wherever practical. The employer ensures to provide terms and conditions for employees to operate in accordance with Equal Opportunity policies, Health and Safety standards in accordance with the UK and European Union legislation.
